2021 has finally arrived. How exciting is that?!
And with the arrival of a new year comes the arrival of the most popular phrase: ‘New year, New Me.’
Whilst some people don’t like the term ‘new year, new me,’ it is more relevant than ever! Although 2020 was a difficult year, I am sure many of you would agree that it indirectly provided us with a lot of time to reflect and focus on ourselves. We were able to spend more time with family and friends, explore new avenues and work harder to become a better version of ourselves.
That being said, I would urge you to carry on doing this in 2021 and give yourself the opportunity to grow even further. Take all you have learned in 2020 and build on it in 2021.
Just remember that 2021 will be exactly what you make of it. So, if you want it to be your best year yet, dream big and get ready to grab hold of all the brilliant experiences that will come your way.
Even though 2020 has taught us that things won’t always go our way, it is still a good idea to plan ahead and write down some goals that you would like to achieve by the end of next year or even in the next few months. Remember, there is no such thing as a ‘stupid’ goal. It could be anything like the following:
Writing down your goals will always benefit you because it will give you a clear view of how you want your future to look. And, when you write your goals down always remember to put it somewhere where you can see it often. It will keep you motivated and will increase your chances of achieving your goal.
As much as it is important to think about yourself, it is also important to think about others. Whilst you are an individual, you are also a daughter, friend and maybe even a sister. So, it is also a good idea to think about how you can positively impact those around you even more! In addition to the amazing things you already do, perhaps you could go the extra mile to put a bigger smile on the faces of your loved ones. Acts of kindness can go a long way so even actions like helping a friend or a sibling with their homework will mean so much to them.
In essence, whilst you cannot control everything, remember that you can still be in control of your own life. Everything you have learned about yourself in 2020 can be built upon and, with time you will see how much you have grown as an individual. Set yourself goals and actively work towards them because with hard work, dedication and consistency you can achieve whatever you put your mind to. Improving the relationships you have with others should also be at the top of your list of goals. Try to spend more time with your friends and family, help them in any way you can and become an even bigger blessing in their life.
